What a move actually costs around Tulsa, who to call about utilities, how to pack the breakable things, and how to tell a real moving company from a broker. No sign-up, no email required.
Part one
Typical typical ranges for a move inside the Tulsa metro. Long-distance and out-of-state moves are priced on distance and load size instead.
Studio or 1 bedroom
$420 – $700
Two movers, half a day, within Tulsa.
2 – 3 bedroom home
$780 – $1,300
Three movers, most of a day, within the metro.
4+ bedroom home
$1,350 – $2,200
Four movers and a larger truck, full day.
Office or commercial
Quoted per site
Usually evenings or a weekend to avoid downtime.
Ranges are guidance, not a quote — stairs, long carries and packing all move the number. Get an instant estimate.
Part two
Electric — AEP / Public Service Company of Oklahoma
Schedule the stop at your old address and the start at the new one for the same day. Give at least three business days' notice.
Natural gas — Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG)
New service sometimes needs someone home for the meter. Book it a week ahead in winter, when appointments fill up fast.
Water, sewer & refuse — City of Tulsa Utilities
Handled through the city's utility services if you're inside Tulsa; suburbs like Broken Arrow, Owasso and Jenks each bill their own.
Internet & TV
Book the install before you move, not after. Two weeks' notice is realistic, and you can usually keep the same account at the new address.
Mail forwarding — USPS
Set the change of address to start the day after your move so nothing is redirected while you're still at the old place.
Part four
Brokers sell your move on to the lowest bidder. If you see these, keep calling around:
For the record: we own our trucks and our own crew does the work — your move is never sold on to someone else. Call us direct at (918) 904-4578.
Part three
Plates packed vertically, like records in a crate, survive far better than plates stacked flat. Paper between each one, dish barrel box, heaviest at the bottom.
Before unplugging the TV or desktop, take a photo of the back. Screws and small parts go in a labelled bag taped to the item itself.
Candles, vinyl records, electronics and artwork do not enjoy a July truck. Those go in the car with you, or they go last and come off first.
Write the room it's going to, not the room it came from. It's the single change that saves the most time on unload day.
